The fact they sank the company should show you insane irresponsibility. It is a disaster for the families who depended on a paycheck coming in, and now, through no fault of their own, that paycheck is gone. Stop sticking up for these scumbags.

I have read on FB and other sites that drivers have been told to stay put until dispatch could find out what they should do because the fuel cards had been turned off, stranding the drivers far from home. Those who made it back to the yards had to find their own way home- stranded drivers.
I'll beleive what a trucker or the family of a trucker screwed over by this outfit says long before I would some article meant to down play what is truly going on!VegasfanNJ and joseph1135 Thank this. -
i honestly cannot understand the opposition that drivers have when it comes to working together (ie unionizing)
yes, we have had some bad unions, just like we have bad politicians, and we have bad cops and we have bad truck drivers
but you till need politicians, you need cops, you need truck drivers and we need to come together
even if it is three or four different unions representing the various perspectives of drivers (you sure aint going to get all drivers to have one voice)Winkjr Thanks this. -
I'm not sticking up for the scumbags, merely pointing out the drama queens. Business' go under every day, especially trucking companies. It sucked their line of credit wasn't renewed, but so far this bankruptcy has little in common with the Arrow deal like everyone is crying about. I agree it's a disaster for the families, and nobody likes to change jobs unexpectedly, but we are talking about a mid size trucking company, they could have just as easily been acquired by Swift and those drivers would be jumping ship almost as quick as they are having to now. IMO, shutting down because your line of credit is rescinded is far better than the scumbag companies that close factories here in the US when their new one in Mexico or China is finished. NC had a lot of skilled experienced drivers that will have no problem finding another job in this industry. As we have already seen the recruiters are trying everything to get these prime drivers.STexan, Rockin&Rollin and poppapump1332 Thank this.

i think we are talking two different things
one is that, the company had problems and the drivers have to fend for themselves (that is pretty understandable..........to a degree)
the other is that this corporatism mentality that treats people like a commodity is nothing short of inhumane (even if it is profitable and you can make movies like "the wolf of wall street")
not to venture too deeply into capitalism, but this is some of the product of that financial approach, that everything has a price and even if you have to fire 500 people and leave them homeless, thats their problem, not yours -
Companies go bankrupt everyday, if somebody doesn't like the odds they may miss a paycheck they should be working for themselves.KANSAS TRANSIT Thanks this. -
Why are some of you not starting employee owned trucking companies?STexan Thanks this.

There aren't any winners here. EVERONE lost their job, including the capitalist pigs running the joint, and the lender isn't going to be paid in full either. That must have been a painful choice for the lender to make.

sorry
a company showing a loss is much less important to me than a family struggling to survivejoseph1135 Thanks this. -
Are you listening to yourself? Are you comprehending what you're saying?
Rockin&Rollin Thanks this.
