personally I do not see a choice program working on this side of the house. The load I'm on is a prime example of why. 900 loaded 800 mt.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

From what I have been reading, you (the O/O) choose your loads. If this is a fact, then you (nightgunner) did not completely read the load assignment before you chose it, or, you did not look to see if there was a load close to your destination to bring you back. In my estimation it's one or the other or perhaps both. My take on what Jar Head is putting across is this; The SNI Choice program gives you the opportunity to choose a load going where ever, you can then choose a load in that vicinity to bring you close to another load opportunity. Planning is the key to success and sometimes you choose a short run over a long run to insure you're not running 800 miles hauling sailboat fuel!

    Just my Two Cents here

Actually I am not, I am an IC on milage pay. The upside to my load is that I get the same milage rate+FSC for my deadhead miles. So for my 900 loaded I get the full amount for over 1,700 miles. Every now and then milage pays really well.

That was one of the good things about bulk, a lot of deadheading empty tanks back to the wash. Man, deadheading empty tanks was a dream when compared to the loaded trailers lol

It will never happen..bulk wont be true choice.

Maybe they'll let you pick where and when but as for rates..nope.

I'm a long time tanker and would switch in a minute.

Chemical loads pay very well..I hauled some so so loads for Foodliner..non-haz.
They totaled $16000 to the truck for 3 loads..figure 65% of that to your gross.($10400)

They would try and change it some way.

I didn't go with Foodliner as a IC because they tone it down to a flatrate..yeah no thanks!

    But feel free to dream.

I don't think they will skim the rate but they will dictate the tank wash , which could result in longer deadheads and wait time due to washing etc
