I had one go on this last Thursday on I10 in Florida. I glanced in the right mirror and see my RRO trailer tire bulging. I stopped, hit the 4 ways and got out to look. 1/2 of the side wall had bulged out 4-6". I have never seen a tire do that. About 15 minutes later I hear a pop and sure enough it ripped 16 inches long parallel to the rim 1/2 way between the rim and cap. It was perfectly along the side wall on what looked like a seam. The tire was only 5 years old. Strangest failure I have ever seen.
Tire blew next to me...

My house sits less than 100 yards from I-40. I've heard many a blowout over the 16 years I've lived here. Most of the time they stop, but not always.....
And, yes, it can be loud in the house. We were out in the yard a few days ago when one let go. Scared my wife pretty good (she hasn't lived here long enough to be used to it yet).bergy Thanks this. -
I had my first blow out a couple of weeks ago. Sounded like a gun shot. Inside tandom.
