    Ah ... no.

There are a lot of factors involved, age isn't just about maturity - a lot of child like 51 year old people out there as there are a lot of mature 25 year old people.

The physician that checked me out seemed to place an awful lot of importance in discussing poker strategy. Spent all of five minutes getting my pulse and listening to me cough, turn my head, then 40 minutes just yakkin'... ;)

Hi Irwnow, that might change ,once you start trucking, HA. Seriously, trucking is probably the last "older person" friendly job out there. I'm 59, and have found, most places, except fast food, don't want older people, as they know, they won't be around as long as a younger person, and don't have the physical capabilities of a younger person( lifting, standing all day). Dog grooming, you say, my ex-wife was a dog groomer, that's a hard job too. Like others have said, just be ready to give it your all, as the problems come in when you try and mix home time with trucking. It works for some, but generally, it doesn't. Best of luck.

The hardest part about the DOT physical is peeing into a cup. I find that being 57 actually makes that a problem. And with your being a girl, I have no clue how you could possibly aim good enough to hit it.

    Mr Ed Thanks this.

Not to worry, Wooly, there's a whole industry dedicated to just that purpose. My ex-girlfriend had trouble, now they provide a host of different funnels. I'm sure someone is putting their kids through college, thanks to those. Dang, why didn't I think of that?:biggrin_25525:

I'm 51 been out of the workforce for forever. And I'm female. Does this seem doable to get trained and hired?
