True not all does but most do. I don't know how most other companies operate. I do know with the mileage pay at Old D for linehaul you wouldn't really need to worry about that. You can make day 1 at old D pulling a LCV close or above the .50cpm mark. That's pretty much fact.

Oil fields are killing it here. Big time! Drivers here have options. I just don't want to chain up when it rains.

That's city driver. They work hard and earn their money. I do linehaul 540 miles a night. All interstate, straight thru. Takes 9-10hrs, I work 10-13 hrs a night cause I'm waiting 1-3 hours in my break room for my load getting paid by the hr to surf the internet on my phone. Could bring my iPad but no wifi at my yard.

Now line haul Conway from terminal to terminal would be cake. Or do one of them 250 miles then switch doubles with another driver then turn around back to the terminal. I'd do that. But you gotta be there awhile before you get those good runs. In the mean time you starve on the crap runs.

Conway freight is a different animal. Ppl want the long runs to not be in the terminal. CWF does take awhile to get a long run. There are still LTL's that you don't have to have a lot of seniority to do long runs or turns. It's on the area your at if your gonna starve or not.

i know all of them make over 50 cpm (except nemf) up here, but not paying drivers to complete their jobs is still wrong. if no one paid it, fine, but i think all these companies should be putting their guys on the clock for drops, hooks, meet and turns, fueling, etc....people willing to donate will take everyone backwards

The problem with all your posts. Your mostly experienced drivers who have gotten into a good situation. (And yes, paid your dues) People visiting this site and thinking about getting into trucking won't get your kind of deal. I found getting into LTL companies, confusing and hard. (never did happen) And i'm experienced with a clear record. I stopped driving for health reasons and my comments and advice are geared towards people thinking about getting into driving.

I am still on the extra board by choice. I might take a bid next time though. I didn't stay for the money but because I get sick of the same run and thought a bid might really suck. They work me pretty hard on the extra board and I would have made more but didn't go in a handful of times cause I was lazy. I also have bennies paid for, not in the union and still not at top payscale. I also have the 15% cut. YRC will be gone one day but should be around for a while yet. I'm looking forward to buying my own truck again and running when and where I want. I miss the freedom of being an O/O. Money isn't so important to me anymore, quality of life is. LTL pays good but I hate the job and I have it easy at reddaway.
