    But I don't work for prime, does that make any difference? I've got a buddy that is leasing with prime and from what he says I'm interested I just don't want to go out with a trainer. I have 7 months OTR

    I would say give prime a call and see if they would make you go out with a trainer or not.

    A stupid move in my opinion... see post no. 578.

    From your sig picture, Roehl dry van? It would probably be best for you to go out with someone for a couple of weeks just to get the hang of temperature controlled freight. If you go tanker, you'll definitely be on a trainers truck, and I'd think flatbed would do the same for securement training.

    Leasing is not employment on steroids, you are starting and running a business, and you need to hit the ground in top form on day 1. You need experience, cash in the bank, a business plan, and the drive to succeed. If you're serious about this, start reading at post no. 1 of this thread. Best advice? Run on the company side for awhile... you'll need to build your driver rating to get into freight lucrative enough to support your lease in any case. All it takes is one QC message to dispatch, and your next load will get you to the yard for the following week's lease orientation to jump from company to lease.
