Short answer...how old is too old...dead.....would be my answer....long as you can pass the required DOT physical....give it a shot....I'm 65 , drove for my entire life , other than the Army never had any other occupation. Retired from GSF in 2011 after 33 years there....still get a call every now and then from them wanting to know if i wanna do some line-haul (drop n hook stuff). Good Luck to you!

This is a great thread. Thanks all you "old" guys for chiming in. My hat is off to you all, but Starboyjim takes the prize for starting at 68.
I've always subscribed to the theory of "buy a guy lunch who has already done what you want to do". I'm guessing this doesn't happen to you old hands very often though.
You guys will laugh at me, but when I first started considering being a driver, I thought late forties was possibly too late to start. -
When i went to roadmaster most of the guys were 35+. I was the youngest guy there at 26 years old.bergy Thanks this.

Way back, around when I first came on board, we had a member called "Aligator". He got on with a company that hauls furniture at 60. So don't you worry one bit about feeling out of place. You are certainly not alone.

That's nice, but I'm pushing 60, and I'm sorry, but I'm NOT moving piano's anymore!
