    When getting a load through a broker would the shipper/consighor be considerd the broker or where you picked up the load

    I may be totally misreading this but the broker is the broker.Say CH Robinson brokered a load for you to pick up at ABC industries going to XYZ worldwide.CH is the broker,ABC is the shipper and XYZ is receiver.

    The shipper is where you pick up the load.

    Now because of the time of the year let me add a few more terms.

    The striker is sometimes referred to as the winger. He plays forward and to the outside. The Goalie is the man in a totally different color of union and he may use his hands as long as he is within the big box.

    There are also middle fielders and half backs. No body cares about them.

    Off sides is called when the team with the ball passes the ball forward and there is a player on the team with the ball that is a head of the ball and there is not two opposing players between him and the goal line.

    A BOL is a shipping document saying what, how much and from where to where. Since you don't pick up at the broker who is nothing but a middle man, where you pick up is the shipper/consignor.
