Left the house at 0600 and arrived at receiver about 0820. Got unloaded right away. Only waited about 30 minutes and they pulled me in to get loaded with five bundles of Sonny bar. Made it to the flying j in wytheville va. My appointment is 1930 tomorrow and i am 179 miles away....think I will sleep in tomorrow...LOL

Finally got orientation date. Headed out on the hound Friday to the Rock. Had to switch from glass to long haul to get a sooner date. At this point, not really caring. Retired 6 weeks ago from Army, ready to get to work. Been driving my family crazy here at home. I believe they are more excited than I am that I leave Friday.
JimTheHut Thanks this. -
Congrats! Prior service fits in well here, like in the Army pay attention to detail, its the little things that can get you. Good luck. HOOAH.Last edited: Jun 16, 2014

Called the receiver and got my appointment moved up to 1600 from 1900. Did my pre-trip and found the right front marker light out on the trailer. Getting it fixed now at the boss shop in ft chiswell va next to theflying j where I stopped last night.

Don't get to do it often, but a nap from 1 to 2 was really nice!

Yeah, know the feeling. Me also waiting mth now, mayb I should switch to get the ball or should I say wheels rolling. -
Got to receiver about 15:10. They showed my appointment was 20:00, mine showed 19:00. The fact that I was told to come in early fell on deaf ears. After lengthy discussion and a phone call, they decided they would unload me. When I was mt I went back to the flying j before I sent in my mt.
After about 40 minutes i got wa do tomorrow morning in Pageland sc. I have enough time to make it there tonight and could probably get loaded. But I know I won't get unloaded early at lowes in Washington courthouse, so i am staying here and getting a shower and will roll out of here at 0430 . -
Well after Averitt fell through due to them refusing to get me a closer trainer and telling me that 344 miles on my own dime is reasonable driving distance every weekend to get to Ohio to get with my trainer I went with US Xpress. Now US Xpress is cancelling my orientation because Maverick is telling them that I never completed my training period and never upgraded to first seat driver. What in the 9 1/2 hells is going on with this? I expected better out of Maverick than these constant issues and failure to provide information. Do I need to bust out the pictures of me and my solo Maverick truck? This is keeping me from jobs.
