Sorry I didn't read it all. yea 200 lbs they probably wont pay that any attention. If you slide your 5th wheel forward, you will be over 12,000 on your steers and still be over on your tandems.
Over weight, dbl says don't worry about it.

What's the verdict?
Most states, 200 is no big deal... -
If it were me I would run it but only after the DBL sent me a message acknowledging that I told them the load was overweight and they said to go ahead and run it. At which point they will probably backtrack like crazy and pull you off the road because they don't want to take responsibility for it.
mickeyrat Thanks this. -
Well that driver manager will just tell him to take it back and fix it if you push the issue, which would be stupid over 200 lbs. You have to use common sense sometimes.

I'd slide the trailer axle back one more notch and run it. Can't see anyone taping it when it's that close...especially if there are no scales enroute where you already be pulled in and being scrutinized. Also, whoever suggested sliding the fifth wheel, that's not going to do one thing for the trailer axle weight.

I don't want to screw the next guy and don't want to screw myself. They were working the scales coming out of MI on 94 this morning, and I have always had #### luck. I'm trying to get on the choice program and any kind of ticket would screw me in a big way. The next guy can make it totally legal once he gets to IL, where he has 45'6" to work with.

So how u going to make it legal?
