from what ive seen, afl out of bensalem used to pay pretty fairly, they are gone now, but they got miles and hours. 39 cpm until you get to stop, then immediately go to 17.75 ah hour until loading is done. 20 bucks flat every time you hit the sleeper.....more acc. pay for lumping, and nyc.

got ran out by guys that work for companies that pay less on cpm, and free wait times......there should be NO free wait time for forced dispatch companies, since that same wait time could have you on the road, earning money....

I don't believe that O/O will ever go on an hourly rate! I do believe that company drivers should be compensated on an hourly rate! Yes, it will drive freight rates up, but it will be a level playing field for IC's as well as mega carriers. I believe the selection of company drivers would be more discriminatory. I believe a Company driver should be compensated at $25.00 an hour during clocked in periods, not for time logged in the sleeper or off duty. I know many of us preserve our driving time by logging in the sleeper during waiting periods, but we should really be logging as on duty, cause we are waiting on a load or unload process.

    14 hr day = (8 hrs x $25.00=$200.00) + (6 hrs x $37.50= $225.00) $425.00

    5 day work week = $2125.00

    6 day work week = $2537.00 (Sat @ 1.5 x rate)

    7 day work week = $3237.00 (Sun @ 2 x rate)

Annual earnings would range from $110,500.00 to $168,300.00

The average Walmart driver earns somewhere in that range. This would be fair and Companies would retain good drivers.

    Just my honest opinion :biggrin_25525:

Lessee... considering the gubberment would get involved real quick, I'd imagine that the "fair hourly wage" would be the lowest common denominator... as in MINIMUM WAGE.

    Thanks but no thanks.

Say... how'd that gubberment help work out when it comes to how long you can drive... to protect you from the evil carriers??? That work out pretty well??? Y'all might want to consider a "fair working wage" in that light.

lots of drivers settle for about minimum wage already, considering hours at work vs gross earnings....

    That's Pitiful.

There is no other industry where anyone even remotely considered "A Professional" would stand for such a "Disrespectful" amount of pay.

When KBR was recruiting heavily for those driving jobs in Iraq.

I calculated $ 100,000. yr was just about minimum wage X24/7 (w ot after 40).

    I was underwhelmed.

As a trucker we are small business people. Our wages are not really something that using an hourly scale makes any sense on.

If you are wanting to figure a fair formula then a salary would make more sense. That way the company would be better served by seeing you are used efficiently. Pay starting should be $75,000 per year with a three week on and 4 day off schedule.

Oh, and more time off if you wife or girlfriend is a tramp. Just so you can keep an eye on her.

This a discussion that is not even worth wasting time on .
You might as well just tell us all what you would do if you hit the big lottery.

You have a better chance to hit the big lottery than you do of ever being paid for every hour you are gone in your truck .
