That's freaky and messed up! Hope the King will be able to aid authorities to apprehend the creeps. Like, don't they have anything better to do?! There are some really sicko, disgusting, low life people out there. Glad the King avoided disaster.

 

It's embarrassing .....I already had the 13 year old help me get it downloaded from the camera to the computer. Was hoping not to have to lower my supermom status any further by asking for their help getting it online.

It is messed up, jungHo.....to realize that there are people out there that would risk their lives and yours for a payoff. It is amazing to see how well thought out this was. The King saw them coming up behind him way back in the left lane, they were running way over the speed limit and running nose to tail. When they came up beside his truck they separated so that they could perform their little trick. He found that odd too. Then when the Rover started matching his speed.... The King had 44,000 in the box, big rolls of paper.

I sent a copy of the video to the safety director at his company, we will see what comes of it.

Another amazing thing was the fact that the video is G-rated. You can hear the King's music playing ....but he doesn't say a word! I figured there would be a torrential downpour of X-rated language .....nada, zip ....not a word! He just reached over and locked the video in so that it wouldn't be recorded over. Amazing!

 

So your able to download video off of the transam camera in the truck?

 

Even if there was a collision there would have been video evidence showing it was a set up.

 

Hi kf4omc, the king is with someone else now. The company he works for doesn't have cameras in the truck. This one is his, a Christmas present. So far, I am really pleased with the video quality on it. It records on a continuous loop and I usually connect it to the computer when he gets home and clear out the existing videos. If he wants to lock in and save one all he has to do is push a button on the side of the camera. I never had a reason to download and save one before. I knew something was up when he brought it in last night and said find the video from 4 pm on June 14. You are right, there would have been video evidence .....who would have ever thought that we would need to protect ourselves from stuff like this?

I can see where it would be beneficial for drivers to be able to download from the company cameras. I learned a lot just by watching this and so did the King. He was having to keep his eyes on the Rover because he knew it was up to something so he didn't see all of what the second car was doing. This camera is a wide angle so it picks up his mirrors and you could see the second car in the mirror. It makes you want to buy the camera system that has the side views .....but the last time I priced them they were over $1400.

 

Yea. I talked to a driver that had one and he told me one time this lady ramed him in the back of the trailer and then tried to say he rolled back into her. Well he showed the officer the video from his dash cam and then went back to the lady and asked her if she wanted to change her story after he told her he just watch a video from the dash cam. Saved the driver a ticket.
