If you get the endorsements, go for tanker companies. This leads to some good paying local jobs in the future hauling fuel.
Several tanker companies hire new CDL grads in Florida:
SVTN
Comcar - 2 tanker divisions; CCC and CTL -
For Tanker Indian River has a terminal in Winter Haven, which is a hop, skip and jump from Orlando. Their IS another Branum (?sp) in Auburndale , but I think they may not hire newbies. Oakley... Who I know is out of Florida and haul's food grade, but I don't know if they hire Newbies or not. There are several others.
J.B. Hunt has a drop yard in Jax and as a new hire company isn't too bad. -
Oakley requires 1 yrs. experience. Their trucks have APU's which is something to consider for the future.
-
Are you thinking of Barr-Nunn?

I have 6 months of experience + school.
