How much of a notice to quit is required to where they won't damage my dac?

    Depends on if they been good to you....ill give them 2 weeks. ..if they been okay to you ill give them a week. ...if they been messing around with you ill just go turn the truck in lol

    This sounds about right to me. I would give the notice @ home terminal just before a couple of scheduled days off.

    You can clean out the truck and they can decide to dispatch you or not; Their choice. Equipment/load is sitting in their yard no abandonment.

    for there next at will employer. Go with your gut instinct on this IMO.

    Roll in the yard and pull the knob clean her out and tell them your done. That's how most guys do it. I give a week.

    First of all - there is no such thing as DAC. The company that you may be referring to is known as HireRight.

    Secondly, it is my opinion that any company that uses HireRight data to direct their hiring decisions is a company that you should not consider working for.

    As for advance notice of intent to discontinue employment - that depends entirely on your relationship with the company that you work for. It is always a good idea to give notice one to two weeks ahead of time, but many companies will terminate employment on the day that they receive that notice. Be prepared for that.

    My agreement with my company is " Either party can walk away at any time for any reason." Being in an "at will" state you do not need to give notice.

    Wrong, Mine let me work out the last 16 days hauling the same high dollar freight right up until I turned my truck in.

    Really? I did. I gave this job 16 days notice, job before that I gave 30 days. Both let me work right up until the day I left.
