I have yet to see someone cooking outside... Never seen it... :biggrin_25512: not in America... But in my country of origin, Brasil... oh yes... all the time... :yes2557:
Bacon has such a strong smell.... Whenever I park at a truck stop that has a restaurant, I can smell it everywhere, in the parking lot and even inside my truck... :biggrin_2552:

Would much rather have the lingering smell of bacon in the cab than diesel fuel or dirty laundry.

I try to cook outside whenever possible. In fact, I carry a small table top Weber grill just for that. Sometimes I'll buy a family pack of chicken and grill the whole pkg. so I'll have leftovers for a few days.

I would carry an electric skillet in the warmer months for cooking out side of the truck. Bacon, hash browns and eggs for breakfast or a "cajun" one pot for dinner. Some things when cooking in the truck just lingered far to long.

I am actually thinking of juicing - all i need is a fridge and a juicer :) Was inspired by the movie fat sick and nearly dead where a trucker lost a bunch of weight. http://www.hulu.com/watch/289122 To your health!

Is it bad to run appliances too much in the truck? I was assigned a Kenworth t700 as my first company truck, and the guy that drove it before me said he had battery issues as well. I just had my batteries replaced, and after three weeks they dont hold a charge at all.
I just want to know, did I ruin them by pulling too hard on them to run cooking appliances? The truck always idles while I cook, and everything runs through an inverter. The inverter readout says my battery level comes down as low as 10.7 occasionally, but dash gauge never shows below 12.5 to 13.
Could this be putting too much strain on the batteries?

If your truck has an inverter you can use a George Foreman Grill, its fast and drains the fat from your meats so you can have a hot meal without all the extra pounds. It also is great for hot sandwiches and grilled cheese. To clean up your grill you simply unplug it, get two baby wipes and put them on the grill, saturate the wipes with a solution of dish-soap/hydrogen peroxide/ water, and by the time you've finished your meal the grill is ready for an easy quick clean and your ready to rock and roll. I use an 800 mil water bottle and add 2 teaspoons of soap, 2 tea spoons of hydrogen peroxide, makes a great grease cleaner and gets your hands spotless after a circle check.
