From Day One - Abilene Motor Express (Richmond, Wytheville, VA)

3200 miles approximately and probably more since TA pays book miles and not hub miles.Yes and I lost four hours waiting to get loaded in Glenview IL on Wednesday. Sure, I got some time issues I got to work out. It still takes me a little longer than it should to get backed into some places. On Friday, lost a couple of hours getting a reflector changed and my tandems got stuck,and getting a trailer washed out at the Tyson plant. Those things do add up. Experience will smooth these things out. Thanks for asking JB. You make a valid point.. All together maybe eight plus total lost hours which gets me to OKC to make my drop.

 

Sitting just outside of Atlanta on my way for final stop in Mississippi. This was a 3 stopper which I don't mind when its got 1000 plus miles on it. My week back from A/C issues got 4100 miles last week and this week is off to a good start. Just want to thank God Almighty for safe passage on a crazy highways with crazy drivers. For finding me spots to park in truck stops in the middle of the night. We all know how parking is at that time of the night. I pray before going in to truck stop and each time I've gotten a spot a few times it was the only spot left. Thanks again Lord. Nite all and be safe.

time management is critical to success

 

Deuces, if you are sitting somewhere waiting for a door, getting a repair, anything other than doing work, you need to be off duty, not on duty...if you run no touch freight, your driving responsibility ends when those brakes are pulled or your done swinging a door open/closing a door... 10-15 min unload/load, fuel stop, pti, dot inspection, etc is the ONLY time you need to be On-Duty. It kills your 70 and will force a reset. If it takes a while backing, make sure you switch Off Duty. Your on private property at that time, not a DOT regulated roadway, same goes for the truckstops. No sense in taking away time/money needlessly. Keep an eye on it and if you catch yourself, edit it out.

 

Make sure you write it up there super trucker, err, I meant super dispatcher.

 

Sitting on west side of Atlanta. I was going to hit Atlanta right at 5 pm so being that it was Friday I decided to call it an early day get up st 2:15 am and zip right thru Atlanta. I picked up load on Monday that had a total of 3 stops with way to much time on it. Did get the second one moved of to the same days as first but final would not change their Thursday 1700 appt so 1200 in 4 complete days suxed. My next load picked up at the same place I delivered and you guessed iy they wouldn't load me till Friday Morning. So after a 4200 mile week last week only barely of 2000 for this week. But for pay period will be over 6 k and to make things worse check engine light came on and according to vovle its the regen sensor. Same thing happened ib my first truck. Only takes about 30 minutes to fix but I'm sure it will take our shop 2 days to get in shop and 10 hours to fix something that takes less than an hour. All I will say when I get to the yard on Sat is shop smile cause you will be on video. To show higher ups what happens when a dvr and his adventures at the shop. Today completes 4 months at Abilene and I'm pleased with everything except the maintenance shop. I have had alot of truck isdues since I've been here and they have been less frequent but even then I still average over 3k miles a week. Abilene is not perfect but it is still the best trucking company I worked for. nite all and be safe.

Thats why I like being paid every two weeks, you can always make up your miles if you have a bad load, breakdown or like me take an extra day or two at the house. It's always refreshing to read your posts, no matter what you have going on, it's always a positive that comes from you. Be safe my friend.

 

I got to the yard at around noon dropped trl and went to shop to write up truck then went to bed. At 3:30 shop got my truck and they gave it back to me at 410. 40 minutes. I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU SO MUCH MAINT. SHOP. The hooked up puter found bad sensor and replaced it. AWSOME and I trully want to say I greatly appreciate the shop getting it done so fast. Thank yoy.

 

You know at Conway TL that would of been three days at the dealer ....
