I would wander if I were in your shoes if the ecm was repaired properly or what fls/fts codes they use for their hh file. We do the 550 brakesaver file in almost 90percent of the 6nz or converted acerts and they run great but I have not tried the heavy haul file. I assume whoever rebuilt your motor and installed reman head adjusted cam lash, 1/2 tooth off if I remember gives low power, but no miss. A full tooth off you might be missing/rough I can't answer that I have yet to see that in person. Did you replace both regulators in filter housing?

Ecm was repaired before overhaul and had the same miss that it does now. Power is good fuel mileage has been good. Just rough and i can also hear it in the exhaust. I did the oh myself. If you come to cali i would be happy to let you look at it! Cant find anything around here but part changers.

Sorry man California don't agree with my hillbilly ways. Cam gear pointer lined up perfectly with ridge on case? Have you had computer hooked up on road test? Are you running factory injectors or hotter ones?

I would road test before changing ecm. Might be worth the money to rule out some of the more expensive things. I would keep the 6nz as long as you can. They are much cheaper to work on than the SDP California compliant cats.

Hot and muggy. Always an exciting experience in neighborhood especially around eastern ky. Highlight of our newspaper last week front page was neked woman arrested outside pats pool room. Most places is crime and death ours is just who got stoned and did something stupid this time.

A full tooth off will make it smoke at cold start. The grey/white colored smoke that smells of raw fuel. Since the wiring harness is ruled out, I'm leaning towards repaired ECM I have seen this same scenerio before not to say I'm certain that's it. That's hard to do without seeing touching and feeling lol. I agree the parts changers have raped you, I always do a road test with ET as part of my routine diagnosis. I like to hear the whole story, but I still start at my place and work forward like I am the first to look at it. Wouldn't hurt to put a vacuum gauge in the fuel line and see what kind of restriction its running.
I haven't had much luck with ECM's being repaired and you say it all started after a driver module went out so I'm putting my money there.
