I can't I'm too busy turning miles. On my 10 hour last thing I want to do is think about trucking. Look if u want to state what's in headlines post the headlines, but don't quote some super trucking lunch counter know it all or a friend of a friend who drove for USA in 1992 and got fired for playing video games instead of driving. What company you drive for Ryan? Don't hide behind your mamma's skirt and be too afraid to tell us. You know what?? It doesn't matter who you drive for. I just know when I was with Shaffer/Crete they sucked. USA Truck has been good to me and my family. I'm making more money than I ever did at my previous employer. Sorry if you ain't man enough to deal with those headlines but those are the facts.
USA trucking is the best company out there.

I'll look into act but not in any position to be an l/o if I wanted to. Northeast doesn't bother me. West coast, one time I was there was okay. Didn't go all the way to LA though. Just Fontana.

They have company trucks those guys make some good money .46cpm , its not based on driving experience either based on fuel mileage and you already drive slow so.... lol.
-
Yeah that's true I do drive slow. 63 mph. Gained 1 mph by leaving Crete. Lol. Maybe 7 years from now I'll be at 70 mph

Find a good small company, my experience so far with my current company has been GREAT. They have 40-50 trucks and 30 something drivers. Coming from Roehl making .34 I'm making .40 and getting plenty of miles in a truck that's not governed. And I'm not treated like a number, way more like a person.. I met my dispatcher and everyone else in the office. The mega company's are all alike in my opinion, sure, some are a little better then others, but all offer low wages for the hard work that we do.
And overall treated as a number, because guess what? That's all you are to your FMs is a number.
there are just too many smaller company's out here that treat the driver with respect and actually KNOW you, and get paid money that makes it worth being away from the family for weeks at a time.Milkman719 and jimbo29 Thank this. -

If ACT is so great why do they have to pay $2000 sign on bonuses? I remember when they wouldn't even talk to you if you didn't have at least 2 yrs experience. Now if you have a CDL and can write your name so you can sign their lease you are hired. Have they installed the cameras in the trucks yet? I know they are coming!

Hell...between your list and USA that leaves about zero companies for a new driver to get started. Doesn't leave many options.
