Hey im thrilled you have so much power that when you pull into a receiver the ground quakes and dont have to deal with the thousands of receivers that flat dont give a #### if it takes 10 minutes or 10 hours to unload their freight.
Let me give you a fact check. If the majority of drivers did leave a receiver while in the middle of a delivery due to HOS
#1 That driver would probably be fired.
#2 He/She would be forced to sit on that load until the next available appointment.Be routed to home terminal THEN FIRED for causing such a stupid service failure that goes against the company.

Your assertion that by just calling your company will expedite a response from a receiver is laughable to the point of hilarious.

Customer service is what trucking is about, period!! If your company tells you to sit there you will do it or find another job doing the exact same thing only in a different truck.

The op had a situation that normal drivers come across all the time. How it was handled after the fact was what was in question by the op. The legal solution to the situation was PC.

i dont know know who you are to try and bulldoze people, don't we have enough of that with dispatch already? And really, I don't give a frogs butt if the reciever or shipper wants their load loaded or not. If they don't have a place for one to spend the night well either they will make a place or it's see ya tomorrow. I haven't been fired yet, and guess what it works, if they really wanted it today and give some bs excuse on why one cannot spend the night etc...etc... Then off to the truck stop I go. And tomorrow when I show up they will really really want the load bad, and if they do that means they should load or unload you that much quicker.

you sound like one of those dispatchers that just likes to push the ole monkey around behind the wheel. Nobody going to protect your license except for you, and it's you or me who gets the violation not the pencil pusher or the keyboard stroker telling someone you better do it or get fired. Tell me that and your truck and load will be sitting at the nearest truckstop, as for me I will already be hired and working for someone else.

go blow smoke up someone's else's butt, do this or get fired what a laugh even the dumbest dimwit can find a job tomorrow trucking really

Wrong... like so many others, a fundamental misunderstanding of what "personal conveyance" is.

No it's not wrong, once unloaded one can use PC if need be the exception to the rule is that the next day before one leaves out you have to return to where you started your PC. This pretty standard at Werner when I was there and have had to use it a few times.

I'm not sure what has happened, but in the last couple of years I have noticed an exponential increase in postings about using PC inappropriately. At some point enforcement may very well drop the hammer... then we'll see a wave of, "but we always used to be able to..." posts.

Wasnt trying to "bulldozing" anyone>I was replying to the almighty trucker who has this great gig that one phone call and the world of lowly receivers will bow to them. Hey maybe it does and if so kudos to him. My world has never worked that way. Do/Can I work the system to my favor? In most cases yes. You have to pick your battles. If you want to sit around an extra 12-24 hours for that load to come off your truck thats between you and your company. Me? That load is coming off at the earliest possible time. Bend the rules? Hell yes I will!!!

As for me sounding like a dispatcher?Naw im to old for that junk but fact remains its an age old practice to attempt to intimidate a driver to do certain things.Young driver says no and the company makes an example of them to show the other rookies whos boss. Wouldn't work with You or me but it happens daily out here. You are 100% correct on the fact that it is our license and our job to protect it. Thats where experience and learning the rules/laws gives you/me the advantage. I almost lost mine due to a string of just good old bad luck quite a few years back. I dont play those games anymore because as your last sentence states "even the dumbest dimwit can find a job tomorrow trucking"
