If I understand this right, he's basically wasting half a day for $5? Is it forced dispatch or can ya turn these types of runs down?
-
Pretty much and wait one driver said they was told no short haul pay for doing the delivery on a relay then another said no short haul unless you delever the relay sounds like they wasting everyones time and nobody gets paid. 4 hours to load and take it 20 miles in Chicago area thats almost 6hr of wasted time depending on time of day for what 10.00 if you was at .50cpm.

Yeah its a huge waste of time. Pisses me off to no end when they do it. Its forced dispatch, they don't like to call it that though. Next time it happens I'm giving them a piece of my mind, and just gonna refuse. Schneider forgets sometimes that I don't owe them anything. My cdl is free and clear, and clean mvr. I can walk when I want to.

It's not forced dispatch. I've refused bs loads on at least a couple occasions. Just tell them you are tired and it's unsafe to drive, then when they pull the load wait an hour and say you're better now. Plus you should get shorthaul pay on a forced relay like that. That's your dbl and/or terminal that's screwng you, it's not a schneider policy. Believe me, your terminal operations has the power to pay you short haul pay. The only time I don't get shorthaul pay on a relay like that is when I request home time and they are having me pick up a relay to get back to the terminal
Stuka Thanks this. -
Keep us updated on the convo if/once you have it?

I talked to them about it and I believe they payed the 25 for the short haul, but it's not the regular, thankfully it was just a drop n hook.
