Sorry, Just wondering if you guys can help.
    Looking at a 2001 Pete 387 c15 6nz 18 spd and a 2000 Volvo 770 N14 13spd.

Just wondering what others would buy. I'm have come to the conclusion that I wanted a Cat and was gonna go look at the Pete. but the Volvo came up and its Much closer. Everyone seems to like the N14. I don't think I've ever drove one the ran right so don't know.

I just know when I'm at the truck stop everything I here that runs good in my opinion ends up being a Cat. And I have driven a few Cat's and I seem to drive them better then others.

I have a Detroit 60 12.7 I bought cause everybody talks about those being the best on fuel. But if you can't stand the way they run then that doesn't matter I guess.

Everything I look at will be pre Emissions...

    Thanks

If those were my only two choices I would take the Pete with the 6nz. The 6nz running alone would be worth almost as much as a 2000 Volvo with the n14. N14s are good motors also, but i wouldn't buy one over a 6nz. You can tune 6nz for power and fuel mileage with basic ecm tuning and have a great motor to build off of if you want more. Just my opinion.

Yeah. I'm with ya on the engines. But what about ride quality and road noise in the cab, how do those compare between the 2. I know the Volvo is gonna be the best ride. But how does the Pete 387 compare.
