14 an hour is a lot more than what a lot of other drivers make including vets and they're working up to 70 hours a week. A guy has to start somewhere. Who's to say he won't get a raise in the future? Instead of coming down on him you should be happy for him. Maybe read his post again. He's not a full time driver.
To the OP.....congrats on your job. Bust some ### and your income will climb. Don't listen to these negative Nancy's who work for pennies!
They said it was impossible but it's not

Okay, I didn't realize he's 16. It doesn't say this anywhere in the tread with the exception of Nash's post...so...?
-
He's not 16. Nash is making fun of him instead of encouraging him.

I am not making fun of him. 14 per hour is nothing and the reason they pay so low is because of people like him who work hard for table scraps and drive the whole economy down. If no one accepts 14 per hour pay then the company will increase it. Coming right out of truck school I was making $60k per year (Not including my business and investment income) while a lot of idiots drive nonstop for chump change. I make .51 cents per mile now after only 3 years which is impossible to a lot of middle class slaves.
Wooly Rhino Thanks this. -
Proud of the poster, I am. He looked and found a job. 14 an hour is sure better minimum wage.Don't listen to these ' SUPER TRUCKERS ' who think they know it all. Hang in there, driver. It will get better for you.
harlycharly55 and MJ1657 Thank this. -
A hazmat company that takes on somebody who doesn't have any recent driving experience other then that of a cdl school 2 years ago. I sure hope you don't have a bad accident. Somebody's going to take that company to the cleaners.

We are not trying to put down the Original poster. Any job is a good thing. However, we are putting down the company for only paying $14 an hour. The workers at McDonald's are demanding minimum wages be raised to $15 an hour. We except the OP into our brotherhood with full open arms and are wanting the best for him. We may not be UNION be we are still brothers. He should be making $20 an hour at the very lease. Newbies have to start somewhere but it doesn't have to be so far behind. He is being exploited and I am an ultra conservative free market type.
pattyj and NewNashGuy Thank this. -
^5's. You got your foot in the door!
-
That's encouraging for me.Its been awhile since I last drove.Due to cant find anybody who pays even close to what I would consider an average wage for drivers.

Wow, you guys are tough.
14 per hour, no experience, could lead to bigger and better things. Nice to see some people aren't afraid of a little hard work. Take it from me, I started out 40 years ago in construction bringing home $96.49 a week.
Good for you, keep at it.MJ1657, nightgunner, harlycharly55 and 1 other person Thank this.
