You'll survive, but you've used about 8 of your 9 lives. Wake up and get in the game, bud.
-
Might take 3 mph to get an accurate weight on some scales, or to prevent damaging them. How much time is saved at 6 or 18 mph over 3 mph... for 70-100 feet...?
-
Not a very good record for having only 10 months in but doubt its too alarming to ruin your career. You need to start focusing and no more anything ok?
-
I was empty and signaled to the bypass lane where the speed limit was 5 mph so I technically never really croosed the scale but the officer noted on my report that I had done so. It wasn't worth arguing over though.

I'm trying my best. It's hard out here for a rookie. Now the pressure is on and it's just a lot on the driver.
-
I could sit here and talk about how awesome my driving skills are, but let's face it...
EVERY DRIVER HAS TORN STUFF UP AND DONT LIKE ADMITTING IT.
Shake it off, learn, grow and move on. Your career is going to be fine as long as you have faith in your abilities and trust your gut.
Weve be all been there, now it's time to buckle down and do the dang thing!!
Hammer Down Driver!! -
I'm pretty sure you can do better.
I don't care what anyone says, truck driving is HARD, if you're doing it right. And it's harder if you don't overcome 4-wheeler habits. Those other truck drivers? They're doing it WRONG. You can't learn anything useful from them.
Preaching to the choir, son.
We did it, you can do it. I've known perfect idiots that were good drivers. You're not an idiot, but I think you have underestimated the demands of the job, and you're hardly the first.
The opportunities to commit mistakes are practically limitless, and it's funny how what seem to be small mistakes get magnified, and everyone can and will commit mistakes despite their best efforts, because they're human.
You gotta slow down, take your time, fight any tendency to be "in a hurry". I actually made it a habit to take a couple deep breaths and consciously let any hurry out several times a day.
Hurry makes you feel like crap, and it's an emotion, so it clouds the mind. There is no room for emotion in "truck driving".
You have to accept that "as long as it takes is as long as it takes", but manage your time wisely, and don't take shortcuts.
Where you are is nowhere near as bad as it can get.
You know what you're doing wrong. Forge ahead, do it right, it will all work out, and you'll be proud of yourself for a hard job well done.jparm and RogerThat72 Thank this. -
What is an "inspection" 15 over? A cop timed you at 15 over and you did not get a ticket?
Pulled air lines apart? Huh? Whas happen there?
Mikeeee -
Pulled air lines apart at Wener. Forgot they were hooked up and after what I thought was an empty but actually was loaded I was in a rush from drop years to appointment because of time and the glad hands were still on trailer and the hoses were still on truck.
15 mph over he have me just an inspection. With no citation.
just got a failed to obey traffic signs today. Was passing a truck and didn't see the weigh station scale sign. After passing that sign and only being half way passed the truck I saw the weigh station sign saying open. Hit brakes, let jake brake bring me down pulled behind the truck, and pulled in to scale because pre pass didn't go off. Got onto scale I'm loaded light. Delayed so I knew somthin was up. Sign then said pull around back. Thought I was just getting a random inspection. Comes out and says look at this picture. Showing me in the left lane half way up about to pass a truck. Says you didn't see the sign? I said I was making a pass that I can't see through his trailer. He said I'll give you a warning and let's do a level 2 inspection. Passed the inspection and that was the violation.gpsman Thanks this.
