I drove a dry van before , but would like to keep any and all options open . I have also looked at primes training . Meh at this point it's like a dartboard . One thing I think is to keep on saving a little more and just straight out pay to obtain the lic. With that being said I believe I would feel more relaxed starting out , not being obligated to the contract . All the stories I'm reading has me at 50/50 on the trust factor scale . I am real independent as I have contracted my own construction work for yrs . The values of busting my hump to make $$$ is there , but a yrs contract to some of theese carriers has me concerned . As for living on the road I do that now . And by far some of the rigs out there look a whole lot better than some of the hotels we have stayed in . Thank you both for your input . As I struggle in my decisions I look for the advice from the road warriors out there.

Im going to be going to the cdl school..when do you actually start getting paid
-
Day one of training you start getting paid. You do get reimbursement if you drive your own vehicle to school for the trip home. Save any toll receipts
cazee25 Thanks this. -
Thanks I talked to Kim yesterday she said she was gonna start the process how long does that take. Beck I don't even have a cdl permit yet
-
Bout a week to get everything set up. You'll get your permit and they'll send you for a dot physical before you leave. I gotta say, Kim was a big part of me coming to roehl. However much money she makes, it isn't enough.

Im hoping to be going around the middle of august.

I am in school now. trying to figure out what company to go with and every time I look online i cant find what i'm looking for. I was wondering how long the training is for roehl. and what exactly we do in training. i was also wondering about the rider policy for them and how long it will actually be before you can have someone ride with you. thanks!!
