How's all the JCT drivers today? Good here.
Just covered 571 miles today an stopped in Rawlins WY so at least I can
Get rolling earlier tomorrow.
On a fuel note, I haven't put any fuel in since leaving terminal but on Qualcomm I have showed averaging 7.3 mpg over 1000 miles. Yesterday after 422 I was around 7.5.
Thats running close to 1300 rpms and 65 mph. I tried slowing down at times an other times was closer to 68.
Anyways that's the mileage I'm getting with an Evolution.
Has anyone checked to see how accurate the Qualcomm sensors are?
I passed several JCT s going east bound as I went west along 70, 25, and 80. Was it any of y'allJarhed1964 Thanks this. -
The Qualcomm readings are dead accurate as they read straight from the ECM. The only thing it doesn't include is your APU usage.
If you left with full tanks from Sapulpa, OK, then you should be able to make it to Ontario, OR on that tank. -
I would doubt full tanks would make it to OR. I am already almost down to the 3/4 Mark with 1022 miles left to go. It's almost a 2000 mile run from Sapulpa. Anyways I'm planning to top reefer off again here in Rawlins an will probably grab 70-80 gallons in the truck.
You probably get the idea, my goal is not to fuel in Oregon, although it may happen anyways. -
1. Its only 1557 miles to Ontario from Sapulpa. At 7 MPG, that's 222 gallons. That's a bit much on one tank but consider this: You should get at least 7 mpg in WY. At least 7.5 in UT. At least 8 MPG in OR. I do that run all the time and put in anywhere from 160 - 200 gallons in Ontario.
2. WHY WOULD YOU NOT BUY FUEL IN OR? You're gonna spend $3.90 or more in WY which is $0.15 more than OR. At 200 gallons, that's $30 difference or more. You're gonna burn diesel fuel no matter what. ALWAYS, burn the cheapest fuel you can and ALWAYS buy as much of the cheapest fuel you can.
3. Remember, this is a business....YOUR BUSINESS. Be as profitable as you can. Would you buy something at a store "A" if you can get the same thing at store "B" for less money? I hope you answer no.
4. This is a game of pennies. Pennies add up to dollars which can make thousands of $$$$ difference in a year's time.Boethel, jbizzle and Jarhed1964 Thank this. -
The most accurate way to get fuel mileage is by odometer reading with the amount of gallons you put In..not a Qualcomm
-
Drvrtech77 I will be using odometer, I just haven't fueled yet so still doing the QC thing.
Steel Tiger, it's furthur than that. I am sitting 636 miles from Ontario OR, an I have already driven 1000 miles. I did load in Tulsa but that was only 20-30 miles extra. -
Also your right about Ontario OR being cheapest. I just checked EFS site an they are sitting at 3.72 a gallon at Loves and 3.73 at pilot.
Closest others in WY are 5 cents higher at 3.77 -
Not sure which way you went, but it's 915 miles from the yard to the J in Rawlins. Regardless, you can get over 1800 miles on a tank. Slow down, turn off that blasted cruise control and WORK that pedal.Rick25 Thanks this.
