You really need about 6 or 8 weeks of settlements as an independent contractor for it to do much good for you. If you happen to be in SPRIMO over a weekend you might ask the instructor if he minds if you sit in. It's usually held in that large conference room at the back of the dining area in the Millenium Building. 8 AM on Monday's and Friday or Saturday.

Hey pony,
Got my invite out of to Springfield this afternoon. Passing Maverick up (They want me to do a sleep test, and take .38 per mile, same thing Prime is offering.)
Maybe we'll see you out there, chief.
Thanks for your help.
Jesus I can't wait to get back OTR, and flatbed, no less, even though I have flatbed exp; I don't frankly care- all I've been pulling on the skate is cardboard bales.
I really do love the work I do

Just to give you a heads up, Prime might make you do a sleep study as well. Just about everyone in my orientation class was required to do a sleep study test. Though I did my orientation in SLT, who knows about SPRINMO

Sorry for the off-topic question, but is anyone familiar with Dryers ice cream in City of Industry? Wondering if there's anywhere close by to park over night. Thanks.

I'm alright with that. In all honesty, and it's going to sound silly- but I've found already that Prime has better office staff. Got a chance to talk a few admin folks out in Virginia with Prime, they were all kind and courteous. Everyone I've talked to at Maverick? They acted like I was a burden, like I was trouble waiting to happen. I didn't feel welcome when I was talking to Maverick.
My employment means a lot more than just me driving a truck, it's a business relationship. It's the company and myself mutually benefiting off of what we're doing here, and if you can't be upbeat and energetic about what it is you're doing, why should I?
Prime won me over, because not only are the two companies very similar, I see more opportunity with Prime, and more choices as well.
Mavericks loss, not mine.albert l Thanks this. -
That's one of the reasons I came to Prime as well. I have a pacemaker and because of that I have had companies turn me down. When I mentioned this to the recruiter at Prime, he gave me the number to Prime's medical team so I could talk with them. All they wanted was a couple documents from my doctors and they were good and I got my 2 year card. Prime really does treat you like a real person and not a number. Unlike the company I just left...
I have been here at Prime for a week now and even though I had driving experience prior to coming here, I had no refeer experience. That has lead to a lot of questions and everyone from my dispatch to the office staff to other drivers have been so nice and helpful. My old company, you would get treated like sheets and called names.
I like Prime! I hope in about 1.5 years I'll be ready to lease with Prime. -
Administration, dispatch and office support staff need to understand a drivers concerns as well as they understand their own jobs. In that, I mean they need to be as concerned with us, as they are about their own jobs. I got the feeling that Maverick was little more than a barebones company, running okay equipment, and drivers to death. I can run, I can run safely, I can run safely and professionally. Teach me, I'm a sponge.
Like I said; Maverick's loss. -
What are the options of team lease vs solo lease at Prime ?
-
short answer nope, closest truckstop is in Ontario, CaDE36535 Thanks this.

On the leasing side you can choose to have both partners sign the lease... equally responsible for meeting the terms of the lease. As far as taxes are concerned, the best method (I've heard) of is to form a partnership through an LLC.
