Its beyond me why FMCSA can't see this.I wonder what the next see of failure of HOS is going to be.

 

Who cares...is that load worth losing your life or costing someone else life over??...if a company tries that crap and retaliates because of that, then they're a garbage co and they can have their keys back...

I agree,no load is worth losing your life or others but it happens a lot in this industry.Money is the name of the game and if you don't have what it takes far as companies are concern they just assume you quit..That's the hard fact about trucking.Its very wrong and very unfair for companies to do this,push and push and they get away with it.All the tired truckers out there im not going to put the entire blame on them,you can bet their dispatcher/companies has a lot to do with it.

 

I just have a couple yrs (2) in this business, I drive strictly NIGHTS (linehaul) I operate a day-cab pulling very heavy loads (Budweiser), my job deliver these loads Legally and Safely in a Timely manner. Only I can decide at (4:00am) in the morning if I am looking out for hazards or I am the HAZARD ! Not being able to keep that Rig centered in your lane at ALL times is enough for me to find a "safe" spot to pullover, go off-duty pillow on steering wheel alarm clock set for (15 min). The family that you run over will not care WHY you took a little "nap" behind the wheel.

 

Exactly! There is a difference between driving tired and driving sleepy. Tired means I could sleep and sleepy means my eyes are closing. But you are correct, no rule will change it, no rule can.
