    BOOKING YOUR FIRST LOAD
    LESSON # 1

    Ok now you have graduated to the BIG LEAGUES and your ready to book your first load

    In this lesson I will cover some of the basic ICONS and things you will see on the board. This lesson will not show the board its self but some images you will see and how to understand them. SNI does a great load board class in orientation so this lesson is not to replace what they teach you as they are updated to the week and this information posted may become old over time.

    BELOW ARE BASIC ICONS YOU WILL SEE
    [IMG]

    Above is the crossroads home page where you will see the TABS to log in. To get to the load board its under the
    INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR TAB . You will need your LOGIN and PASSWORD given to you in orientation to access the load board .

    [IMG]= Preload or Drop

    [IMG] = Times or appointments confirmed

    [IMG]= Load posted in the last 90 minutes

    [IMG] = Hazmat Shipment

    [IMG] Continued move AKA : (a relay)

    [IMG] = Temp sensitive

    Now that we have covered that lets get to a basic part of a load and what it includes

    ORGIN , DESTINATION , APT TIMES, RATES , LOADED MILES , EMPTY MILES,

    This is just the first screen of the load board ... To get more information about the load you will need to HIGHLIGHT your load and hit the VIEW TAB . This will be covered in the next lesson but gets you to the point where the next load board lesson will start..

    Hope this first load board lesson helps you to get a better feel of the SNI CHOICE PROGRAM. and the LOADBOARD

    STAY TUNED FOR LESSON 2 which is a little more in depth.

    JH

    Being a New CDL holder you have to wait but being an Experienced driver would you also have to wait the 6 months?

    BOOKING YOUR FIRST LOAD
    Lesson # 2

    Written instructions Searching your load

    At the end of LESSON 1 we left off with Showing the general icons you would see on the load board and then the process to logging into the portal. This lesson will start after you have logged into the portal of crossroads.

    SO YOU HAVE LOGGED ON ...

    You will see ICONS across the top stating

    SERVICE PROVIDER - IC COMMUNITY - IC SHIPMENT - PAYMENT

    To get to the load board you will go to IC SHIPMENT

    You will then see the Search Engine which will let you input data for your load search you are looking for It will look similar to this but not exactly ... I made this form so keep in mind its not exact but close ... I put comments in ORANGE

    I hope this shows just how easy it really is to navigate the load search. Keep in mind i Built this so its not 100% true to scale but about 90% on target as to what you will see.

    ONCE YOU HIT SEARCH ... Your load search will appear depending on which location and radius you selected such as 100 MILES or 50 MILES based upon your own criteria you placed into the search engine. If you want to see LESS shorten you radius if you want to see more loads expand it out.

    [IMG]
    Remember this guy ... He becomes important as he can tell you if your load is PRELOADED or a DROP if you dont see him on a load line item you can figure on the load being a live load or unload .

    In the graph above under APPOINTMENT STATUS you can look at loads that appiontments have been completed (confirmed ) or not complete ( not confirmed) I normally just check the box for completed cause you CAN NOT book a load that has not been completed . If you go back to lesson 1 and review youll see that CHECK MARK that means the load is complete and can be booked .

    [IMG] <This guy. He is a important friend to have ...

    This will give you allot of information as to the LOAD SEARCH ENGINE to digest. I will come back withLESSON 3 and explain more about the search results you find and how to select your load and how to find out the details of your load ... and other vital information as well .

    Lesson 3 will be strictly written but you will get a good grasp of the concept .

    Hope this lesson helped you in seeing the simplicity of SNI CHOICE and the process as its strait forward and easy to navigate .

    Straight from Schneiders website

    Owner-Operator Qualifications

    • Valid Class A CDL
    • Hazmat Required
    • Minimum 3 months of recent Class A driving experience
    *exceptions apply, speak with recruiter for details

    Take note of the underlined because I'm willing to bet $3.50 that if its in their best interest to waive these then they will. Well except for the CDL, you kinda need that

    That little ** Will be the kicker says based on driver experience

    i could be wrong I hope I am . But I just don't see them letting anyone fresh out of school buy a truck and dispatch them selves . Heck it's a learning curve for a experienced owner op . I couldn't imagine being fresh out of school .

    Again I could be wrong

    I dont even know where they pull their up to numbers from. From some of the numbers i seen some of the experienced guys post if you got at least $5,000 in revenue a week and only worked 40 weeks that would be 200k in revenue. Average $4,000 and you hit 176k in revenue in 44 weeks. A brand new freshly minted driver would probably get tore up a spit out and be one of the complainers on facebook stating that the made 175k gross revenue to the truck but could only net 30k(Actually read that on Schneider facebook)
