Bad thing is, the insurance companies control trucking more than trucking does. If they tell trucking companies they cant hire you, then they cant hire you.

The companies are not going to believe this anymore than the drivers here do.

Get a copy of your MVR to see exactly what's on it.
If you currently have a drivers license, then start applying to schools and eventually one will accept you. You don't have any serious infractions such as wrecks, speeding, DUI, etc. so you should be OK.
Start the online applications and be accurate on the information asked for. Be accurate on the applications; you don't want to be sent away over some mistake on the application.
Start studying the free "CDL Practice Tests" at the top of this page.

    Central Refrigerated Service
    CRST
    C.R. England
    Frozen Food Express (FFE)
    Millis Transfer
    PAM
    Prime
    Roehl
    Swift
    Stevens
    Wil-Trans
    Mesilla Valley Transportation
    Southern Refrigerated Transport-free bus ticket,hotel room,3 meals a day.
JBS Carriers - pays for Roadmaster school.
    Midwest-Coast Transport

Since you're homeless , I listed schools some may disagree with, but your situation can't wait.

JBS Carriers and Southern Refrigerated Transport don't have much about their school on the website, so call them; their toll free numbers are on the websites.

If you read correctly, noone called you irresponsible.

The person that mentioned the word "responsible" said: "The only responsible advice I can give you is...."

    Regarding your questions:
You may not be able to land yourself a great company, maybe not even a good company to start with, but you'll start somewhere and after putting some experience you may be able to move to greener pastures. Just my 2 cents...

I have an update to my situation:

    1) I renewed my California Class C and M1 license yesterday, needing to take a written test (In Ca, it is no longer written it is PC/Touch Screen based; which I thought was cool), and the questions I missed were missed because they were ambiguous and had more than one answer that was correct.
    2) I started the traffic violator school online last week and should be past that by the end of august (course completed and fine paid) for the 2012 failure to stop ticket.
    3) I scheduled an appointment for tomorrow with a local legal clinic to see if I can appeal the wireless ticket decision (I was convicted without being present in court with a rubber stamped signature).
    4) After about an hour on the phone with the DMV, the representative was able to back out about $1000 in penalties for my vehicle registration, which I should be able to resolve when I receive some money I am owed. This was for the unregistered vehicle ticket I got earlier this year.

Since the 2012 ticket will no longer be reportable, and the unregistered vehicle is an infraction and not a moving violation (even under DOT rules if I understand correctly); the only concern is if I win an appeal of the wireless ticket. One company told me the wireless ticket counts as 2 points under DOT rules, did I understand that correctly?

Does anyone know of any companies that have training facilities/home bases out of the Sacramento, Ca area and would be able to take me in as a paid driver trainee?
