Well finally made it to SC for my delivery . Total miles for the week 1779 with 32 hrs available on my 70 . Now the miles dont look good since i started my week on a Wed, but i made the best of them and generated 2046 in revenue after fuel expenses. So i still had a normal week as far as take home goes .

My insurance claim did pay 125.00 a day x 2 so that will help also. overall another avg week.

Yea im still here . Left Kc on Sunday with a 526 mile run for a Tuesday, delivered that load early Monday . Deadhead 502 mi to Nebraska for Wed pick up got it on Tuesday for a Thursday delivery to Ohio 682mi . Got to Ohio on a Wed a day early . They wont take it early so now im sitting waiting for morning delivery. I hauled ### on every load to get there early ,but never fails there always a catch ,puts you back to square 1. 300mi avg per day by the way is square 1 . But on the bright side my mpg on the computer is 8.7 for the week and i ran hard for the most part. 63 65 70 alot. take home figure out to be 1200.00 so I dropped 400.00 in fuel. (why 400.00 in fuel you ask because I would rather pay taxes on 800 instead of 1200) taking rest of week off with my tanks full leave out Sunday. With no preplan so far

Total miles for the week 1710 in 4 days actually 5 gotta sit for a day.

To many days in shop not enough on the road. My truck has hit the. 4 yr old barrier . Basically the cost of operating it goes up exponentially (i have no idea if i spelt that correctly). Maint. cost can almost double if the hasnt been enough prevent maint.

I had the funds built up . But since first of yr . 3200 has vanished. 3200 on the particulate filter alone. PMs extended warranty etc

1St year Maint cost were 6500. 2Nd year was 10000+ 3rd yr so far im on pace for atleast 12000.

I have been avg 2200mi a week that comes out to 154.00 to my maint per week. But i make good revenue on those 2200 mi. I have learned to make them count.
Some drivers want more miles say ex. 3000. Now ur maint builds faster 210 a week as opposed to 154. The difference is alot when you have breakdowns or wanna do alot of preventive Maint.

So thats my deal now. Looks like im gonna end up paying out of pocket for repairs about 2500. Due to lack of Maint funds. So its really important to have a nest egg to fall back on when you lease. Because if you live paycheck to check your a flat tire away from being in the hole.

    Dang! That's a lot of repairs. .

When the truck starts costing more than you're making its time to trade up..? Have you talked to Dave?

I've talked with other drivers at ACT that didn't have the funds in the maintenance account and they financed it with the leasing co.. High interest though.

AND at the end of the lease term. .$12k buyout. . That's gonna hurt.

Plus i skipped payment by time they get work down still time to make money this week. 3000.00 total cost so prepare for it . Clutches dont last forever. Universal joint cost 500.00 thot about getting 1 . But i think ill wait for another rainy day

i'm sitting on the fence, considering leasing. (co dvr now) leaningback and forth bout per mile in newer trk or per week in used..... Maint is one of the issues. And i don't really want to own a trk when i'm done. My question, given your experiences. Which way would you go if you were sitting on the fence like me ?
