    Hi Folks,

Is it true that I will need to provide proof of HS graduation to a company?

I am 49 and have never been asked for it and do not have it. So, I called the dept. of ed. in my state and they have no record of it or me at all. So, will I be required to take this again 33 years after graduation?

I hope not. Not that I cannot pass it, it is just a royal pain in the ###.

Most likely no. Most applications are really more interested in your past ten years and at your age it is pretty much assumed that you graduated from high school or obtained a GED. I'm 52 and have never been asked to provide a high school diploma.

I never had to show it either as far as employment goes. Don't worry about it. If you eat, breathe and sleep, you are hired! :)

I guess the only scenario you would have to show it is if you get your training through a community college but admissions should know how to track it down and do it for you. But truck driving is a certificate and no perquisites are necessary.

As far as getting a copy on your own try and remember where you took the exam. They will have your records or can tell you where they are stored.

Thanks, I remember exactly where and when and who. All sources pointed me to the higher ed dept in MA. Let's see what happens.

I truly don't think he even needs to worry about it. When I applied with Prime they questioned me about a gap in my employment history when I was laid-off in 2008 and then went back to college to finish my business degree. Because I had this gap they asked me to submit my transcripts from college as proof that I was doing something during that time. If he can supply a solid work history I think he'll be okay.

I was never asked for proof. Also, have known HS dropouts that just checked the box for HS grad anyway. Can't imagine a company asking for proof unless it's some super secret government contract.
