    Hey TTR,

So I'm not exactly a new driver but I'm no veteran either. I got my CDL back in 2011 and haven't really used it much. I drove with Swifty for about six months last year and drove straight trucks for another year before that. Since then I've been working as a small package courier (owner op with my own four cylinder vehicle). My wife and I are having another child so I figured its time to make some real money. I recently applied at a couple of companies that promised decent cpm and hometime. Problems been, once they get my MVR they pass on me. I do have two seat belt tickets and a speeding ticket from last year (personal courier vehicle). I was under the impression that traffic school would eliminate the speeding infraction from my license, but apparently they cannot mask a violation if you have a CDL cuz it's federal? So basically I went to traffic school and paid for it for nothing (awesome right). I do have hazmat and I'm realistic when it comes to hometime. I'm pretty much aware that trucking is a crappy, unforgiving business when you're relatively new, but that having been said, I've learned a little and have decided I will not work for Swift, CRST, CR england or Werner. Other than that, though, I'm open to suggestions. So help me out ya'll, where do you think I should go? And more importantly, are there any decent companies who are willing to over look the infractions on my MVR?

    Chinatown Thanks this.

Are you talking about points on your csa or your actual license?

Seat belts are big thingy, majorly due to the fact you did it TWICE.

Story time ,a buddy of mine worked in a paper factory and once miscut $250,000 worth of paper but the company didn't fire him ,why you may ask? It's better to keep the guy who made the mistake and will always 2nd guess himself now rather then hire a new person who is prone to make the mistake again.

You demonstrated that you would repeat the mistake even if the company hired you.

I wasn't aware seat belt tickets went on your PSP record. I thought only moving violations.

    OH yeah, it totally does.

The two companies I've been with, in the past two years; both of their insurance companies have made specific mention of it.

On the plus side, it and a 43 in a 25 speeding ticket dropped off last month- and that gives me an almost completely clean record! :biggrin_25523:

But, yeah- they deffinatly report on seatbelt violations. IIRC, it was listed under an equipment violation, by Ohio (my home state.)

Some companies will let you go after just one seat belt citation.
