Its a shame some people come on here an act like that. This is the final front line deffense for people before they choose a bad company. And is the only trucking forum I know of.There is a ton a valuable info here for new and old alike.Oh well, you live and learn, but I preffer to learn from others mistakes so I do not do as they did....

I happens on this forum. We see it several times a yr. I don't understand the mindset of those that just bend over and take it, knowing before hand they are going to get it.

With 6 months to 2 yrs experience you can move on to much better companies than either one! At 2 yrs you can almost work for any company you want to, and at 5 yrs you are golden. There are a few companies that have insurance issues that require 5 yrs experience.

Yah , I've got to say that ol' "HANGMAN" got a little bit O' SAND where it don't belong . He's just a PUP , full of P### n' Vinegar ! The funny thing is , as I recall , He had some Christian stuff on the board (?). As I recall , anyway. I must say you guys really had me HOWLING through all this stuff , MAN ! That was some FUNNY #### !! And as "PAUL HARVEY" SAYS , "and now for the rest of the story" . I too , like "ronadondoh" come from SWIFT , Prior to that I drove tractor trailers for FEDEX , and had an 18 year career with them. I've been drivin RIGS for 15 years , and now ,........BRACE YOURSELVES ,......I'll be pullin a "HANGMAN" and mak'in my way over to "JB HUNT" orientation , monday April 28th !! HAAAAAAAAAA!!! NO....... , I know you think I'm yankin your chain , but I'm NOT! I couldn't stand "SWIFT" , after they left me stranded up in East Or. for 3 days ! But I'm now stuck between a rock & a hard place , (literally & figuratively speaking). I still need to make the monthy nut . I had heard some good things about JB HUNT , and then subsequently put in a "pre app" , and there-on after got hired . Now ,...after hearing all this, and other posts I've seen , I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight , and may have to go in for some post
trama therapy !! Like "ronadondoh" though , I'm in a bind , and gotta make the "NUT" . I'm behind right now on this months house note , but I'm not looking forward to the potential of the tak'in "BEHIND" , so to speak , on
orientation day! But hey , I'm going to give it a shot and let the chips fall where they may , or WILL . We'll see . I drove for FEDEX for years , so all this stuff is fairly new to me . "The Truck Company Hop". I feel now that I should have "possibly" done more research on all of the companies out there , before diving in , but we'll see what happens , and I'll keep all posted on what's shak'in , and by the by , I won't have a "HISSY FIT" , like the ol' "HANGMAN" . Thanx to all for the LAUGHS !! "RED"

Ya you can't research these companies enough because they change over time to. I didn't know about this site when I started with JB over 3yrs ago but everyone I talked to at the time liked them. I live in NH and back then they had lotsa work around here, now they're justabout all out of new england and totally outta the northern states. If you get a good fleet manager then you'll be all set but these guys move around the company almost as much as the driver turnover. I've been on this account almost 1 1/2 hrs and had I think half a dozen fleet mgrs,I currently have 2 of them.
At least on the dcs side favoritism rules,It doesn't matter how good a driver you are and if dispatch loves ya management takes care of their drivers and they can do no wrong.

Hey Grunntly , It's nice to hear abitO' positive come out about OLd JB . You know as I've searched , and seached , & re-searched , the bottom line seems to be that all of these trucking companies have someone out there Throw'in Tomatoes at 'Em . I went to one web page last night , that had , "ALL THE BEST TRUCKING COMPANIES" , "CFI" ( CON-WAY) , "MARTEN" & 2 or 3 others . I've found that if you look up these companies mentioned , you're ALSO going to find "SPACKLE" on them too !! Maybe not as much , but it's there . Furthermore , the simple fact it "MAY" not be as much "SPACKLE" , is due to their being a smaller company , with far less the amount of drivers , who knows for sure ? Hell , I don't ! I must say it all has been extremely confusing to me , because I'd rather not dilly dally around , find a good company , and hang for a while . Obviously , that doesn't seem possible , for the simple fact that this is an imperfect world , with imperfect people , so any effort , on my part to find a "FOR SURE" company, is a futile attempted at best . One minute you feel good about a company , and the next , that same company is being BLASTED by someone for something ! I don't know if JB HUNT's going to be good for me in California , they have me set-up as "regional" , Ca. , Or. , WA. , AZ. , sometimes Ut. , and also Nm. They also say that it's an "average" of 2,200 miles per week , key word "AVERAGE" . They also said they've never seen a driver get less than 1,500 per week . My question is ,... how would they even know (?) , their RECRUITERS ! Indeed , Iam somewhat sceptical , and who wouldn't be ? I would just hate to find myself in another jam where I'm only averaging 1,400 or 1,500 miles a week , and at those kinda miles , I might as well get a job flipp'in burgers at "IN_N_OUT" ! I'm sooooooooo CONFUSED!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAHH!!! HAAA HAAA !! NEED TO SEE "DOCTOR PHIL" !! Thanx bro , "RED"

Hey Grunntly , I buzzed a mail to you earlier this morn'in and the response was , it had to be looked at by a forum rep. before it could be posted . It was quite a detailed note , and thus far it hasn't been posted to the forum (?) Would you happen to know how long it takes these cats to post a long and tedious letter ? I've been check'in all day off and on and no sign of it. Just a shout out , if you had any info regarding , since you've been on this forum longer than I . Regards , "RED" THE "VOODOOBILLYMAN".

There is a 50 post minimum to send PMs to other members except for forum staff. If you send your PM to any of the mods it will be forwarded on to the member of your choosing.
This was to cut down on recruiters signing up and spamming folks.
