Quick question:
Didn't they go over logging on paper when you received your CDL training?
Just curious is all.
Even with E Logs, you have to be prepared to change over to paper if and whenever the QC goes down.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
I was kidding. Be as legal as possible, but a lot of drivers seem to view paper logs as an exercise in creative documentation. I'm not gonna tell you to do anything illegal on this forum. Paper logs have more freedom but require more personal responsibility.
I'm sure some old pro who knows a thing or two can answer your question way better than I can. -
that was over a year ago and at both companies I never had e log go down

Make sure you keep it filled out, when you stop for fuel, etc, write down the city and state. Document your inspection as on duty not driving. Research what you can find on the internet as examples to follow. Your figures must add up also, so be careful recording your times.

easiest thing to do is get Drivers Daily Logs onto your computer and/or tablet
filling out any part of a paper log wrong amounts to a big deal to the DOT
you wont have a lil black box telling you to stop for your 30 min breakbriarhopper Thanks this. -
there are logbook programs for android. don't know about apple. keeptrucking is a free program. just make sure to leave the dot field BLANK. it'll work without it. you fill it in. then the app will call your office and try to sell them on the program. you give the office permission, they can track your gps also. really neat program. and you defenitly can't beat the price OF FREE.
there are logbook programs for computer. i use trucklogger on my laptop.
you do need a printer though, but i'll take that over having to actually fill out paper.briarhopper Thanks this.
