Hi everybody,
I'm new to this thread but not new to trucking. I started in the business in 1971 (yes I'm up there) I have been a company driver, owner operator and actually had my authority and owned 26 trucks at one time. Now what I need advice on: I retired in May 2012 and because I was an idiot with my money I now need to return to the work force. I am 69 years old and no one will hire me as a company driver (age discrimination is alive and well). I am looking into lease/purchase as my only alternative. I have checked out a few companies and thought maybe someone here could point me to a few more to look into.
Thanks in advance. Any comments will be appreciated

We should be asking you for advice! I just got out of a lease with Dart. I'm 53 and doing the flatbed thing.
Hard work, but fulfills two of my (actually the wife's/AKA the boss) desires......a steady paycheck with weekly
home time, and it's certainly getting me back in better physical condition. Good luck in your job search, not
the first time I've heard of the age discrimination thing in todays trucking companies. I think 99% of them
want and are moving towards low pay school graduates. Again, good luck to you. -
Thanks 2wildT, Best advice I can give anybody, If you live your life day to day you better still look out for tomorrow.
Chinatown Thanks this.
