I have been driving for over 30 years, (yep, bad planning, I'll be working till the day I die) and have only been otr for all that time.
I want to try something local or regional so I am not 2000 miles away from home 90% of the time. I was thinking that pneumatic bulk might be the way to go since there seem to be a number of them located here in my home area, Victorville, CA.
I am totally ignorant of that type of hauling, which companies might be good to look into, who has a good training program, ext...
Any input would be appreciated, thanks!
Company suggestions

Check A&R Transport. Most of their hauling is regional and those drivers make $55K - $72 K per year hauling non-hazmat plastic pellets used in injection molding.
All tanker companies have in house training for their specific equipment and customers. -

Our San Bernardino terminal has some of the top grossing drivers company wide. Lots of dedicated freight out there and plenty of work. They also get the newest trucks in the Fleet thanx to CARB. Not only do they haul the various types of plastics, they do dry grains as well, mainly rice which goes to Mexico. If u are comfortable with and able to cross into Mexico, that's a plus. They also have a dedicated tanker that runs 2x yearly up to Alaska, not sure the details on that one except the drivers get paid WELL on that trip. If you do go drop an app, tell them the driver of truck Truck number deleted sent ya, it used to be their truck but had to leave, not CARB compliant.

Thanks for the input guys...Mexico? Not even on my old mothers life. I used to do transfers in Nogales and that was close enough
No one with any info on the powder carriers out of Victorville? Would still like to hear a bit about them.
Thanks again all!
