Tanker comanies that pay O/O-I/C percentage pay

In a word, no. However, my best friend drove for them as a company driver for all of about 5 months. He LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the work (was his 1st time pulling a liquid tank) but he couldn't make any money. Of course, he wanted to be home every weekend and it turns out, SE AL is not a good place to try to get home to every weekend with a liquid tank. He was also constantly complaining (to me) about long dead heads (ie, making no money for driving due to being paid on percentage). You have to understand tho, this driver is one of "those" drivers, drivers who will find something to grumble about, even if it's having nothing to grumble about.

He was also quick to point out his former employer spoiled him with their tractors: Volvo 780 with APU and refrigerator, and Action gave him a Volvo 630 with no amenities. Huge difference in equipment. That was over a year ago and things have probably changed since then.

He was very quick to say if you lived near one of their yards, you would do well. Another one of our friends and former co-workers is proof of that. He lives in Mobile (they have a yard in Theodore) and he gets home weekly, most of the time, and not much dead head. Both of them are under the impression Cordele is NOT the yard you want to work out of.
