Getting the CDL is not a big problem, so long as you can get your hands on a truck. Getting hired w/o at least 160hrs of schooling is another matter alltogether.
USA, Millis or some other??

I have no personal knowledge, among the training companies, Roehl has a better than average reputation, along with Prime. Both of these companies are written about on several threads.

Again thanks for the suggestions. Think I am just eager to get this ball rolling. As I said before, think I will just stick with SAGE, hopefully will be able to pass and get my CDL, any and all endorsements I can get, including TWIC and already have a passport. I am just going to take it easy until class starts July 21, 2014 in Indianapolis, IN. I think I just get too anxious to start this process, and need to learn to take a breath every now and then and calm down. So that is what I am doing, SAGE for schooling, should be done mid August, hopefully will be successful. Drive safe everyone!

Anyhoo.....the point I was going to make is to make sure that the 'school' you go to is a "recognized" school. Can't tell you were to hunt that up, I know that Schneider has a list by state on their site. Don't wanna blow all that money for a half arsed outfit that no one will take credentials from. Jus' sayin'......Sage may be perfectly fine.....dunno
Also, once you graduate, you've got about 30-60 days (depending on the company) to get behind the wheel. Otherwise, you gotta go for refresher training...... -
I would check with the company you want to go with and Make sure the CDL school you choose to attend is on their approved school list. When I started I was set to go to school here in Phoenix and the company I wanted to go with said the school was not approved and gave me a list of approved schools. Good Luck

Thanks. Already setup to go to SAGE school in Indianapolis, IN starting 21st of July. Already paid and have my DOT physical and CDL permit with all endorsement tests passed. Have appt. Monday for TWIC application. DOT physical was very quick maybe 5 minutes. Did my pee test also. This school used to be PTDI certified but local college removed some things from campus when they were 68 million in the hole. State gave them 65 and they had to cut the rest so SAGE was cut also. At the very least I can start my career off and get some experience. Have several companies already looking at me so will see. Now to figure out what I want to do.... Van,reefer,flatbed,tanker,etc...
