I got contacted yesterday to see if I was interested in blade training and I accepted the offer. If you don't mind me asking, what didn't work out for you? Should I expect it to be more difficult than I'm thinking it is? I deliver in Ft. Worth tomorrow and head to Gainesville after I'm thinking.
You can PM me if you don't want to make it public knowledge. -
I know this may not be the right section did this but his long do you typically stay out before you get home time

You'll be fine, my situation won't happen again to anyone. Basically I was under the impression I was good to go after the last training but apparently the person that does the training later that night decided I was denied and no one bothered to tell me about it. There's more to it but it's a moot point really since it won't happen to you or anyone in the future as they made a policy change afterwards that if the person 'fails' for lack of a better term, then they have to be told right then and there. I can't be retrained for six months and because of the poor way it was handled I politely asked them to never ask me about it again.djtrype Thanks this.

Minimum is 3 weeks out. Maximum amount of days you can take off is 5 and you earn a day for every week you're out, up to 5 of course.

Understood. That's not a good way of handling it for sure. I appreciate the quick response.AZS Thanks this.

No problem, good luck, forgot to mention what I did they deemed unsafe, came too close to the parked cars while maneuvering the trailer and had to be corrected three times. I did come a little close to the cars but I was just threading the needle I call it, lol but seriously I wasn't out of control but too close is too close I suppose. As for the three corrections, gave up trying to think of what those were.

Dj, I just went through the "training" today. Its not all that hard really, what happened to AZS was just a fluke of bad luck I think. The hardest part is remembering the steps to stretch and shrink the trailer.
Looks like ill be down in Galveston tomorrow morning, grabbing a 320EL thats headed for Irving. Sounds like ill be doing a couple of the Galveston loads to keep me in the area until somewhere around Tuesday next week when I might be put on a blade project -
I repowered a load from another driver in Fort Worth today and while there Joe Byrd inspected the inside of my truck and said my floorboard was too dirty and wrote me up. Kind of funny if you ask me. But anyways, I found something out today I didn't know. The Waffle House across from HQ, we can eat free with our badges on. Wish I had known about that sooner I would've put it to good use.
