    Hi everyone,

i am currently in the process of applying for the Ministry to cover the cost of my AZ license. Part of the application states that I have to interview a trucker, and someone who owns a trucking company (possibly the same person).

I was wondering if anyone would he able to help me out. Preferably in the Peterborough area in Ontario.

    Thanks so much.

Best bet would be to pick up the phone book and knock on some doors.

I'm sure if you talk to the school you'll be going to they can put you in touch with some people. If they could get a recent grad or two for you to interview it would give you a good idea of what's in your immediate future.

As for the owners call the companies around you and ask if they could help. Just talking with them could be a big plus when it's time to find a job. If you have a vehicle you're within a fairly short drive of a lot of companies.

Not sure if anyone from the Peterborough area posts here but you may have better luck in the Canadian Section

How does the ministry cover the cost of your AZ license? I thought one must be unemployed to receive that kind of grant from a third-party kind of thing. But, I don't really know for sure. I've just never heard of this.

it was their idea of getting people back to work when the recession hit.

manitoba does something like it with a joint effort between the province and manitoba public insurance. pay for school sign on with one of the companies on the list do a 2 year term (can move to another on the list, but only the ones listed) and voila your a trained driver. Bison is big on this at one point.
