It's plastic. You can just dip it in bleach for a few seconds each day.

By the way, that was really funny. I think I might put your quote up as my signature line. Without the context that is really hilarious...

The ones that cover their mouth with their hand and cough and then continue making a sandwich with out a second thought. In not too worried about germs but you can keep that sandwich.

And never have them re-make ANYTHING for you! Like many others, I worked in food service while in high school. I'll never forget all the "special treatment" a food re-make would receive after a complaint. I still get almost ill thinking about it

You know most restaurants don't use gloves when making your food? My grandmother cooked for 20+ years and never once wore gloves when cooking or plating food. She washed her hands after handing raw meat, but that was about the extent.

Your worried because they wiped a prep board down of the crumbs from your sammich but had you not seen that you would be ok with the sammich?

Oh for the love of Pete!! Grow a pair! Here, I run for a day pullibg freight, dealing with chaind and tarps. Do you think I always have the time and opportunity to sanatize my hands before I hop in the sleeper and slap together a sandwich? Of course I don't! Nor do I worry about it! A little honest dirt never hurt anybody.

Just another fine example of the ongoing wussification of America.
