Rand mcnally is said to be the most accurate of the big 3, there's also some good software if you have your own tablet, its called couple copilot truck, cost $150, updates faster than my purpose built gps', and still get the advantage to use it for other means.

Could you tell me what version or it really doesn't matter
-
how do you know if it's the best route or not? too many considerations can come into play for that decision.

If you try out the Truckers Tablet Gps you will be very glad you did. Can any of the Rand, Cobra, Garmin, etc also do Transflo? how about dashcam? oh how about weather, or how about getting online? Watch a movie on netflix? Skype? Take pictures? What about HD Video? Email? Electronic logs? This just a few things my Truckers Tablet does do that the other GPS units don't do. Oh yeah i am also going to turn it into my phone too since it has 2 sim slots. Yes it also can do live traffic and you can view Traffic cams too. Unlike some of the other gps units this has never froze on me, never took forever to reroute. I can do everything the other truck Gps units can do and so much more and yes this is a Truck GPS and no it does not need internet to work and it is stand alone. Did a comparison with a friend that had the Samsung Galaxy note and another that had the Nexus...both had the same navigation that i had but they were way slower since the makers and distributors of this tablet worked with the navigation company to tweak this specifically for this Tablet.

Oh and by the way can we keep this forum to the interest of Truckers tablet. There is a Forum for Rand and Cobra somewhere else. Thanks

This is the unit out of Canada? How do you get your map updates and how often?
-
www.naviextras.com and every quarter they come out with updates but i will only update it once a year. My choice because really how often do the roads change that much?
Just like the Rand they have a dock program too.Last edited: Jul 11, 2014

I have a feeling I know you!

We'll do the moderating around here. But I agree we do have a forum for each of these devices. These forums are here for the member's benefit, not the companies. So let's not turn them into some kind of contest. You all play in your own sandboxes!
