So the other night I was crossing the Vallejo I-80 bridge on my way out of Oakland. When I got to to the toll booth the cashier said $25 please. I said sorry but I dont carry that kind of money with me. He began to wave me through (this was not my first time crossing this bridge)
So with that prior knowledge I decided to be a little investigative. I asked the cashier if they were going to bill my company, he said NO, I asked if the company would get a fine, he said NO again. So I asked what happens when someone in a car doesn't have cash for tolls? We send them a bill based on their license plate and they have 7 days to pay or be fined.
I then asked again why my company wasn't going to be billed, he said please move along which I did.
So what is up with that, don't tell; me that trucking company's pay more taxes either because if you base it per mile you are wrong. I guess it is because it is easier to get it from the little guy in the little car.
If corporations want rights then they should pay as well or dont cross.

Please delete this thread, forget that you figured out that the rich don't pay tolls or taxes. If the lower 47% of taxpayers ever confirmed this....
Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
I had the same thing happen to me. Tell your company asap. They have 48hrs to pay it online. After that they send a bill for $100 to the company. If it is still not paid after that, it becomes a ticket.

Let me understand this. You drove your truck into the toll plaza not expecting to pay the toll? Did you think the bridge fairy would wave you thru with her wand?
By the way, they took your truck plate, your company will get a bill.dog-c Thanks this. -
Your way of thinken will change once you get the exp. That was one toll booth that actually cut you some slack.Be thankful.Bet you won't get that lucky with the next 100 booths.

I did not expect a toll bridge along my route. My company does not put out a dispatch advisory via Qualcomm. They know its a toll and I don't feel as though I should have to bail them out. If you dispatch someone to a region that has tolls then advance them some cash via Comdata that they can use instead of draining their bank account. After all we live in the 21st Century don't we?
My company does put out an advisory about the Kingpin so they know better. They are betting they are getting away with it. -
Like someone said, your company is not getting a free ride, did you have to sign anything or show the attendant your license? If no then I think they'll send your company the bill.
