Always carry some cash, or at least a debit / credit card. You never know. Be prepared.
Do not rely on just what info the company may / or may not give you.Seems like you could have investigated the route before you left, figured it out yourself. Plenty of ways to get information these days. After all, we live in the 21st Century don't we ?

Since your company isn't going to be billed for the toll, maybe he was going to pocket the $25.00
-
I once went thru that very same tollbooth and didn't have enough cash to cover it. I had about $18, but had no idea it was going to be more than that. The tollbooth attendant said I couldn't go thru if I couldn't cover the toll, so I made traffic behind me wait while I went in the bunk to hunt for quarters. I eventually came up with the total amount due. This was several years ago, so thay may have changed the policy. But most likely the guy was just being nice.

My boss pays everything. If we run out of money from the comdata checks i just take whatever i spent of my own money from the next comdata check.

I hear that,I won't drive for a company unless they have a transponder or some means to pay for tolls. Its too easy for them to stiff the drivers.
GenericUserName Thanks this. -
I am sorry. I do not have the resources to loan my billion $$ company $25 + the 50 to 70 $$$ a week for CAT Scale tickets, not even overnight.
-
Yeah, always carry some cash, dude. It doesn't have to be a bunch, but I would feel naked without at least $25-30 on me.
-
You got lucky. Oklahoma will write you a $90 ticket for that.
-
Sorry your rookie logic don't fly.
When I hauled cars for Anchor Motor Frieght, early 80's. You paid your tolls out of pocket and got reimbursed at arrival of home terminal. And that was a Teamster job.
Stop whining.Cranky Yankee Thanks this. -
It's your job to figure out details about your route and plan accordingly. Surely your company has a way for you to draw an advance to pay for things like weight tickets and tolls if you can't or won't pay them out of pocket.
