i dread the bus ride to Salt lake D: 54 hrs......
-
Idk how swift does it now but central used to pay the cost of the bus ticket towards a plane ticket if you would rather fly. It's like 5 or 6 hrs from Charlotte. It's something you can ask your recruiter if you so wish
-
i second this. i was lucky my plane ticket was almost exact to the price of the bus ticket maybe like 3 bucks. so i was good. was not getting on a bus not worth it. unless you have to

I cant stand gray hound. When I went to orientation for central I drove there in my old 1995 plymouth neon.when i got back I junked that car. That drive was all that old car had left in her Broke a a few cylinders 50miles from home. I do miss having something to fix though.4noReason Thanks this.

Figured I'd let you guys know that I decided to stick with the lease. I talked to Kraft dedicated last wednesday and start pulling Kraft loads monday.
4noReason Thanks this. -
Good for you! We changed our fleet a couple time when we were there... First was basic OTR, then a dedicated out of Phoenix then finally to a dedicated loop... The first wasn't able to give us 'team' miles we NEEDED... Second was the DM (multiple reasons we got along like oil and water), loved the customer (frozen baked goods... Heaviest load out was 21K!!)... Third one was a hit... Steady CONSISTENT miles and the first DM and the second DM on this dedicated account were both awesome! They let us do our work, and we let them do theirs... Then Swift came in the works and we got tired of getting beaten with a Swift Stick instead of the Central Carrots... But that is something we won't have to deal with any more

what is a dedicated fleet and how long do you got to wait to get on one?
-
dedicated fleet is a fleet for a certain customer. such as kraft. you only pull loads for kraft. some places need 0 months and some require 2-6 months. most are 4-6 the only one that needs none is the rail local loads for chicago.

Well I hope this works alot better than otr. I am going to try for a midwest loop if they do that. Right now I am eating at the IOWA 80 kitchen. I decided to take a reset here at the 80 and got to see the jamborie. There was tons of neat trucks here. Only annoying thing is the amount of recruiters for companys that where at the jamborie. I think I have like a buisiness card for like almost all the motor carriers at the jamborie lol. If i could figure out how to upload pictures with my phone I would post a few pics of a few trucks.
