Last night a carful of young people passed me in the interstate. They wanted me to give the air horn a tug. No traffic really, so I thought what the heck, I'll do it. There was one other trucker on the highway and he shook his head in disapproval as he passed me by.
anyone ever blow the air horn for kids driving by?

I will... occasionally. But I make sure that mom & dad know that the kids are doing this & are aware.
One of the first few times I did this, mom nearly ran in the ditch. So, lesson learned. If the kids are in the back seat & mom doesn't know whats going on & her mind is a million miles away... you blow that horn, you may very well cause her to loose control & wreck. Who knows.... maybe drop off the shoulder, over correct & run right under your trailer.
Doesn't happen often but its something to think about. That one time scared me enough to make me rethink my policies on this.
I dont blow,
unless mom & dad know... -
Do it almost every day. If an air horn causes someone to run off the road, they don't need to be driving anyway. And if someone called in on me my boss would tell them to get ****ed. Lol

Thought that was part of the job..

When I was a kid I would get pissed if a trucker wouldn't blow his horn when I was giving him the signal.

Judging from my own kids, if they try to get one truck to honk at them they try to get every truck to do it. My wife knows if she passes a semi the twins will fall over themselves to get it to honk.
When I'm driving, nothing makes me smile more than passing a country bus stop in the morning and seeing 15 schoolkids all raising their arms up and down. I'll give 'em a shot on the horn and they all wave and smile as I pass by. I used to run northern Indiana quite a bit which has a large Amish population. One of my stops was a weld shop out in the middle of nowhere next to a large farm. Every time I pulled out, there would be 5 little Amish boys sitting on the fence row motioning for me to honk. Kids are kids, no matter what their lifestyle.Tb0n3, JReding, rogueoutlaw and 25 others Thank this. -
