I was doing 55 mph on a state road yesterday not even 6 miles from where I started and a lady pulls out in front of me. I missed her by 6 feet. If I wouldn't have hit the brakes I would have T-boned her. Hows that for starting your day off. All this was because she didn't want to wait anymore. Right now the truck I am driving takes up to a mile of flat ground to get up 55 mph. Even if I was in a hurry the truck is not. :biggrin_2559:

I read the story about Illinois new ( 05/01/08) policy of retesting all incoming drivers, I love it!!! it is about time a State did something like this. I have talked to this Montalbano guy in Illinois. He is really sharp, and has a great grasp on the CDL Mills out there that we all know about.

If you can drive, like most of us, his rules/policies make sense. If you are scamming, he will get you..I say, way to go ILLINOIS CDL..:biggrin_255:

This happened to a good friend of mine. He drove for nearly 20 years without an accident or major violation, but wound up moving to Illinois (to appease his wife, big mistake). When he went to transfer his license to Illinois, he had problems with the written test due to mild dislexia. To make a long story short his company (NFI) terminated him since he could not pass the Illnois test and would not allow him the choice to move back to Pennsylvania and continue to work despite a spotless record.
