1.) Wait until you get some money saved up.
    Truck GPSs are expensive 300-400.
I wouldn't recommend a NON Truck GPS but you can get away with it...I would just wait.

2.) Find a cheap 30-40 one at Amazon or Walmart or something.
I have one I bought at Walmart, it works good enough for me.

    3.) I use a Blueparrot.
Walmart has the older version for $60 online.

I would get the BT Headset first, and wait for the other stuff.
Until you're done with the Training at least.

BT, CB, GPS (and get a truck one right away)

Does your company use Qualcom? Our Qualcom units have GPS software in them, and even talk.

Both times I have used this, it was absolutely useless.

Recalculation was so slow to the point that by the time it recalculated and told you the new route you would have already missed the next turn.

Blue parrot B250 XT. I wouldn't cheap out on this.

Google maps on smart phone works very well.

RM Motor Carrier Atlas will help you visualize where you are going if you're not familiar with the interstate system.

Uniden 510 or 520 radios work very well, are cheap to buy and very small easily fitting into your duffle bag.

I can't remember the last time I saw a lot lizard.

We have Qualcomm but don't think it had GPS. I have a garmin but it's for car. The pilot travel center in Lebanon has a sale on the ones they have and they are a little over $100 and may get it for now. Found a BT for about $40 at walmart and a CB cobra for about 35. Just basic stuff. And of course I am going to get me a atlas to be safe. Has anyone heard of RE West? That's who I am driving for. Seem good so far. It's not that I am going to look for sleeper leaders, was just wondering what a guy does or how finds a woman to fill that void while he out otr. Just curious

I take a bicycle along. It's amazing to me that when I started doing that , I started looking for places to ride and found that often those places are very close to truck stops. Plus then you're not tied to the truck.

Try looking under Trucker's Toys and Tools. A lot of good threads and information there on GPS/CB's.

Lot Lizards are alive and well and just as nasty.

you just find a cute girl at a shippers and throw her in the truck like Alley Oop

seriously the most important thing to me is Google
satellite to look at shippers and receivers

i have GPS laptop phone use them all
please dont be one of THOSE drivers driving down the road with the cell phone to his ear
$2500 fine not that anyone gets stopped for it
I use my Blue Parrot all the time now dislike using the phone without it

Oh and BTW more people use GPS then not
you just have to be smarter then the machine
and not turn down cowpaths that make no sense

    Oaker Thanks this.
