Do you have an auto or manual trans. Reason I ask is because the automatic gets up to a mile more than the manual. I now the 2015 evos with an automatic transmission boast up to 9mpg due to the "E Cruise." It's a system within that allows the truck to go into neutral when going down hills. Unfortunately the manual doesn't offer the same. I'm looking to get on with pumpkins choice program but their finance department doesn't offer the automatic as an option.

Naw.. Unfortunately not. Credit is horrible. Pumpkin seems to have an okay deal so I'm thinking about giving it a shot. I'm just wondering what type of transmission you got in that freightliner. I'm guessing an automatic cuz you're getting pretty good fuel milage.

Where does this automatic/ 1MPG gain come from?
The DT12 is touted as getting up to 5% better economy. 1 mpg would mean a baseline of 20 mpg. -
They say it's from this thing called "E Cruise." It's a communication between the engine and the transmission to where the truck goes into neutral when going down a hill in cruise control. But hey.. bro.. do you have an automatic or manual?

13 manual. I like the idea of the auto shift but the risk factor scares me.
Volvo calls that neutral/ downhill feature "Ecoroll." I guess it works pretty well. Or you can just pay attention while driving and ease off the throddle before cresting a hill and let momentum and gravity take over. It's not quite the same thing.
Funny how if a human coasts downhill out of gear he's deemed to be out of control, if a computer does it, it's ecologically responsible.Shardrk, K100, mickimause and 4 others Thank this. -
Yea man that krazi. But good to know it's possible to get decent mpg with the evo. Again I'm looking to get a 2015 so I'm going to try to pick light loads as much as possible and lay off the gas when going down hill. I heard there's a guy they call "the fuel doctor" who programs the truck to get alot more mpg. I hear they're pretty good at what they do. I'm guessing as long as I try to keep my avg. cpm to at least 1.50 per mile I should be able to make a decent living without doctoring up my rig.

Yea trust me I wouldn't want to risk blowing out my engine. I guess the price of fuel could run a person into desperation mode but I wouldn't take a chance on it. Just shootin the ######. Besides blowing the motor I'm not trying to blow my contract with pumpkin so trust me.. I'm going to keep it 100% factory. I just hope that 2015 evo comes with an apu. I heard those smart parks aren't worth 2 dead flies.

Price of fuel is roughly 33% of your revenue
