It's kind of funny watching humanity repeat the same mistakes they have made throughout history time and time again.
For the record, my name is just a funny play on words, in actuality I am a Disgruntled River. Get it...? Guess not. Also, I get along with my company and my DBL just fine. In fact, in the opening post I even complimented them on that regard. I've never whined to my DBL about it, that's why I wanted to simply ask here. I also never expected a T680 as a part time driver either, that would be ludicrous.
I see person after person with the attitude of "Oh man, you think YOU have it bad? I had to do THIS, I had to drive THAT, stop complaining!" I guess many people here missed the point I made originally when I said I think any driver going away from his home, friends, family to be out on the road making much less money than many other professional jobs deserves a nice truck. Maybe if many stood up and agreed that we deserve a better quality of life for what we do, it might just change the industry. Crazy right?
No, I'll keep driving, I'll keep on truckin'. My DBL is a super nice guy, I would not leave over the truck, I've had some other frustrations unrelated to him that go much deeper into the company but in actuality I doubt I will leave anytime soon.
Also for the record, my wife rides with me as well, but she cannot drive due to some medical issues she has. -

Just to toss this out there....my Cascadia has been one of the best company trucks I've driven. The mattress? Get a 2" foam pad from Wally...less than a C note and it has served me well for over three years (I bought it while I was still at Schneider).
Don't misunderstand....it DOES matter what you drive, but in terms of cleanliness, dependability and the like...not the name on the manufacturers plate, especially with just 14 months under your belt.
Dont like it? Leave. Problem solved. -
With due respect to the shaker owners..
In my opinion: I dont drive junk. Did that for years when I first started, that freightshaker crap doesnt go by me any longer. I am a human being and need comfort as such, not a **** hole for a dog to lay on.
I hate weird sounds in my cab, freightliners want to come apart at every pot hole you drive over, make you look like an amateur right out of truck school no matter your age, their suspension sucks to say the least, but what can you say about a truck made always with cheap materials?
Did I mention they are all alike? Coronado, columbia, crapcadia, century, fldXXX
Did I mention even internationals are better, volvos way better, and petes.. well there you have it. -
I don't drive to be seen. And I'm plenty comfortable, thank you very much.skyviper73, Cranky Yankee and mickimause Thank this. -
The cascadias, on the other hand, have lumbar that actually works and the oscillator at least absorbs some of the road shock.mickimause Thanks this. -
Your best is to go with a company like Tribe or TA they equipe there 680 nicely. The sni 680 is just as bare bones as the Cascadia. But I love my Cascadia and its parksmart system. I get po when drivers like you or even newbies you expect to jump to the top of the pack in pay n equipment. If u think it's tough to sleep on that mattress wait till it's 10 degrees out or 75 and u can't idle then u have a reason to whine about being unhealty or tired. And if I recall the 680 is from green bay oc. So if your not dispatched from that oc doubt you'll get one.

Hubby started in April and his truck was a 2006 Columbia. It was worn out. Hubby didn't say a word to his DBL other than the truck is tired. He went to Portland for his extra training 3 weeks ago. The trainer was walking the lot with him and just laughed at that truck and asked him, "Is that POS yours?". Of course, Hubby said, "Yep". The trainer said, "I'm calling your DBL, you need a better truck". DBL calls Hubby 2 weeks ago and says he now has a 2015 Cascadia waiting for him in Fontana. Hubby has never turned down a load, complained about not getting home on time or anything and his scorecard averages 103%. Look what he got in 3 months. He's very happy with the truck.
mickimause, mike101402 and mickeyrat Thank this.
